Love | Sweet On You

With Valentines Day fast approaching, I spent time today creating a fun layout using merely scraps from my stash. I had two sheets of paper remaining from the 'Sweet On You' collection by Creative Memories as well as a trio card kit from the same collection. There was some really large embellishments in the card kit which I thought would be perfect for using on a layout. Here is the finished result:

First I trimmed a sheet of Bright White cardstock to measure 11.5" x 11.5". Next I punched along the top edge using the 'Sunrise Scallop' BMC and Border Maker System. Then I adhered the page centred over a sheet of Firecracker Shimmer solid core paper. Since I didn't have a lot of designer paper left I cut three thin strips to measure11.5" x 0.75",11.5"x 0.5" and a third 11.5" x just a few millimetres wide. I layered them together and adhered this border across the top of the page.

I had just enough designer paper to create a small envelope. This is a fun way to house a few photos. I used the Creative Memories Envelope and Bow Creator to construct this and followed the measurements to produce an envelope for a 4" x 5" card size. This was a perfect size for two 3" x 4" photos tucked inside.

One of the card bases from the trio card kit was used as a photo mat for my larger photo and once in place I could enjoy adding some of the large embellishments. I also used some of the Red Floral Essential Embellishments on my layout too but for the leaves I used my beloved Five Leaf Punch. (I really hope Creative Memories consider bringing back this punch as I use it ALL the time.) I used a cardstock for my leaves from my stash called 'SEQUOIA'. Since I didn't have a lot of embellishments or stickers remaining from this collection, the flowers were a great way to fill space and add colour to my design.
