Happy Memories | On The Bright Side

Hot news..... Amy Tangerine has collaborated with Creative Memories. Yes that's right! Amy has designed a beautiful, bright and happy collection called 'On The Bright Side'. If you haven't had a chance to check it out yet, you can see it HERE.

I couldn't wait to create with it and here is a glance at one of the layouts I created-

Let's chat first about these rainbows. They are a really simple embellishment to create and I hope you will give them a try also! You will need the following Creative Memories tools:

To start, you will need to cut a 7" circle from Bright White cardstock with your Circle Cutter. This will be your base.

Next, cut a circle from ALL THREE CCS circle patters from the outside track. Cut first with your blue blade, hold the pattern still, then cut with your red blade to produce a ring. When you have cut from all three patterns on the outside track, then cut from all three on the inside track. Cut first with the blue blade, hold the pattern still, then cut with the red blade. You will then have six rings plus the base circle template.

*TIP: You will have a lot of full circles left over with this technique, I won't Lie. But they are great for using on another project so they wont go to waste. If you don't want to use your designer papers for this technique like I have, use some of your cardstock stash.

Using repositionable tape, carefully adhere each ring in place over the base, starting with the largest ring.

Once in place, all you need to do is cut the circle in half to produce your two rainbow halves. So simple! I adhered mine on the layout on opposite corners and directly above a punched border. I used the new 'Whimsical Scallop' border punch and I LOVE it. It is definitely a new favourite.

I also added a thin strip of contrasting paper over the punched border using the 'Pinking' blade with my 12-inch trimmer.

To complete my layout I added some embellishments as well as some of the Floral Essential embellishments and a large title.

Nearly forgot to tell you my photo sizes! This layout features two 3" x 3" photos over two 3.25" x 3.25" photo mats. It also has a 6" x 4" photo over a 6.25" x 4.25" photo mat.

Happy scrapping!
