Fa La La - Christmas Charm.

Hello Sweetpeas!

I'm so excited to launch my brand new blog, where I can share even more tips & tricks with you all for some fun scrapbooking projects.

Today I am sharing a brand new layout created with the fabulous 'Christmas Charm' collection from Creative Memories. If you haven't seen this festive range as yet, here's a little look for you.

There's lots of fun elements included in todays layout and it is a very simple design for you to recreate for yourselves as well.

I trimmed a sheet of DARK GREEN cardstock to measure 10.25" x 10.25" before adhering this over the checked base designer paper. Next, I trimmed a sheet of BRIGHT WHITE cardstock to measure 10" x 10" and adhered this centred over the dark green. (NOTE: I know this is a lot of layers but you can 'gut' or remove the centre of the base pieces to conserve your supply.)

Using the Decorative Trimmer, I cut a very thin, 12" long strip using BLACK cardstock. I adhered this approximately 1.5" down from the top of the page.

Next I used the fabulous new *FESTIVE LIGHTBULB punch to add some Christmas lights to the wavy strip. (**Clearly this was a popular punch as it has now sold through.) First I punch 6 bulbs from BLACK cardstock. Next, I punched three bulbs from two different designer papers. I also trimmed away the top of each bulb with my scissors. I adhered each bulb over the top of the black bulb base. Using GOLD SHIMMER solid core paper, I punched yet another six bulbs. I trimmed away the gold top of each and adhered to the completed bulbs. (*Save those gold bulbs for another project.) By adding the bulbs with foam squares gave a lovely dimensional effect.

I was feeling a little 'extra' today so decided to double mat my photos. The 4" x 6" photo was trimmed to 3.75" x 5.75". I then added a 4" x 6" BRIGHT WHITE cardstock mat and a 4.5" x 6.5" base, which was a card from the VARIETY MAT pack.

The two smaller photos were trimmed to 4.5" x 3". A 4.75" x 3.25" BRIGHT WHITE cardstock was added next, followed by a 5" x 3.5" designer paper base.

If you know me, you know that I love making fun titles for my layouts. The 'FA LA LA' title was made using my Cricut Joy with Cricut Design Space. The font I chose was BBC Block Toys and I also used the offset feature to create the backing.

A few little stickers and some journal strips was all I needed to completed the layout.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope my layout has inspired you to create your very own masterpiece.

Lots of paper-y love,

Kylie.
