I have seriously been in love with the new 'Hydrangea Haven' collection from Creative Memories. The soft colour palette and distinctive florals are beautiful. With the release of a new punch as well, the 'Embossed Leaves' punch, we all knew it was only a matter of time before I used it to create some flowers right? This fabulous punch creates stunning foliage as well as flowers and I'm here to show you how......

First things first and because I know you will want to know....Yes! The lattice background was cut from a cut file. I purchased the file from the Silhouette Design Store and you can find it HERE.
If you are a Cricut user you will need to purchase the SVG format of this design.
The lattice was designed by Sophie Gallo and I used a sheet of paper leftover in my Welcome Baby collection from Creative Memories. The soft woodgrain pattern and tone was a perfect blend with the Hydrangea Haven collection. The lattice had some stakes at the bottom which I removed with my trimmer.

To prepare my background I trimmed a sheet of White cardstock to measure 11.5" x 11.5" and adhered it over a sheet of designer paper. Then I adhered a sheet of designer paper measuring 11" x 11" over the top of that. Now don't worry...I gutted the centre of both the base layer and the white cardstock first to conserve my supply.
To create my flowers I used the Embossed Leaves punch for the petals. For the centres I used the smallest flower from the Spring Blooms decorative punch and the small circular centre was my Handheld 1-hole punch. For the larger flowers I first cut a base with my small CCS circle template & red blade on the inside track. Then I layered 5 larger leaves around the edge, followed by 5 smaller leaves around the centre. I added the punched small flower and circle centre then to the middle.
To create the smaller flowers I used the same circle template for the base only with my blue blade on the inside track. I added only one layer of leaves - the smaller, for these flowers.
Once I'd made my flowers all I had to do was punch a heap of foliage. I used the Embossed Leaves punch again as well as my beloved *5-leaf punch. ( *Creative Memories please bring this punch back!)

I printed my photos to 3" x 4" for this layout as I didn't want to cover all of that beautiful lattice work, but you could use any size you like and that suits you.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layout today and you perhaps give this design a try for yourselves. Happy scrapping!
Kylie.
