Summer Gallery - Chasing The Sun

Have you had a chance to check out the new 'Chasing The Sun' collection from Creative Memories yet?? It's a very Summery and bright collection which is perfect for documenting all of your favourite Summer moments. I've always made no secret that bright colours can sometimes make me feel overwhelmed to work with, however this wasn't the case for this collection.

Today I am sharing a bunch of layouts with you all for your own inspiration. These designs have been created using some of my favourite, past sketchbook downloads. So if you have purchased a sketchbook download in the past, chances are you already own the sketches used for these layouts!

It's amazing how sketches can look so different created in another collection or by perhaps altering them slightly or a lot.....

My best tip if you find busier patterns or a colour palette too bright, is to work with a muted background. This will automatically make it easier to put varying patterns together and will soften the brightness. I chose to use 'Bright White' cardstock as my main background. Let's take a look at each layout individually......

The sketch used for this first layout is from my most current download- SKETCH 1 - MARCH 2026 NSD. With the exception of changing my photo mat sizing I pretty much kept to the original measurements for this layout.

This second layout, believe it or not, was originally created in a Christmas theme. This design is SKETCH 5 - from NOVEMBER 2025. I added an extra photo to this design & love how it turned out.

Next layout for your viewing inspiration is from one of my all time favourite downloads. It is SKETCH 2 from OCTOBER 2025. Altered a few pieces here and there but again kept to the core design fairly well. I am obsessed with the new SUNLIT Border Punch and loved how with adding a few foam squares to adhere it down, helps it really 'pop' on this layout. OK next!.......

We are staying with the same sketch book download for this next layout....(told you it was a favourite!). This is SKETCH 1 from OCTOBER 2025. This design is so simple and I truly believe it's the beauty of the collection that makes the page a stand out. I kept to the original design yet again and had fun embellishing!

Ooh we have had a colour pathway change.....That's what I love about the 'Chasing The Sun' designer papers. So many themes to explore. This layout is from another favourite download and is SKETCH 1 from SEPTEMBER 2025. This was originally created with the Croptoberfest 2025 products but I knew it would be perfect in a Summery theme too. Now before the Scrap Police arrive and tell me I wasted paper with that half circle.... That entire top strip is from one cut of paper. Both sides used - no waste. Want to know how?? You will have to check out my download. (*wink).

And now the final layout in todays line up was created with SKETCH 2 from SEPTEMBER 2025. I deleted 1-2 small strips used on the sketch but otherwise kept to the original design. To help my laser cut title stand out I traced around the outer edge onto Bright White cardstock and then carefully cut it out, before adhering the laser cut over the top.
